Wire Surf
The Wire incorporates skim style finesse into a surfboard design. A fleet of prototype boards were designed and tested by the P5 team. The best, most effective features of each prototype boards were merged into one fantastic final shape! The design starts with the squared off snub nose running into a straighter drawn outline that breaks into a nice wider center curved section ending at the soft wing bump. From here the tail profile straightens to a pretty flat wide tail. The result is a super fast trick-abled platform with plenty of stability to recover. The soft-round tail shape allows for smooth surface spins, made easier by the slight forward twin fin placement. The Snub-nose allows riding revert/backwards with acceleration! Historically, revert acceleration has been a feature only skim-style boards could offer. The snub nose design also enables a heavier rider on a smaller board. The cut down nose gives a 53” the feel of a 57” board. Larger riders can now ride a smaller board that will spin easier. P5’s GatorSkin™ Tough Carbon/Aramid Glass wrapped around our super-lite 1.5” foam core accentuated by a carbon fiber stringer system, provides the strongest, most durable surf-style construction available giving Wire the stiffness and torsional strength for speed and agility.
